All dogs are up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before adoption. Guardianship Application, home visit and reference checks are required. Minimum adoption fee is $150.

Deacon is a really super dog! He was rescued from a high kill animal control the day of his scheduled euthanasia. This sweet, energetic one year old, is the perfect size to take rides in the car or curl up with you one the couch at 40-45 lbs. He's always ready to give kisses and even gives you a "smile" when you come in the door. He is a dream in the house, never chewing, counter surfing or getting into anything he shouldn't. Deacon is also wonderful in his crate! He goes in willingly on command and never makes so much as a peep. He absolutely loves to be outside, even in this 10 degree weather, and is always ready for a walk. Inside, he loves to be near you, happy with curling up on his bed next to you as you watch TV. He is very good with other dogs and is not reactive toward them at all, but we would recommend him in a home with a submissive female or as an only dog. Deacon LOVES to train!! His foster mom and dad have taught him sit, spin, shake, wave, touch(touch his nose to your hand), go to his place(bed), over(jumps over objects), down, and come. He also knows the command "leave it." He also LOVES taking showers and will jump right in!!

Deacon would love have a strong, nurturing owner who will take him to obedience classes as due to his athletic nature, he would really succeed in agility. Since he has lots of exhuberance, he would be best in a home with older children or no children. Could you be the person to rock his world?
