Grayboy Mateo was a handsome gray and white stray who hung around my house. He must have been someone's cat at one time and it was hard to understand how anyone could let him go. He was very shy but eventually began to trust me. One day I saw him with 3 bad wounds around his head and neck and knew I had to get him some vet care, so I trapped him and took him in for treatment. I kept him in a cage in my basement for several weeks until his wounds healed. I wasn't sure how he would react, but he was very calm and let me pet him in the cage. When I finally let him out I found that he was a very loving boy, but he didn't get along with the other cats in the house. They harass him a lot, so I wanted to find him a home with no other pets. He likes to lie on a shelf in the sunroom and watch the birds outside. He is so cute when I am preparing cat food, reaching out his paw toward me and meowing. He is a calm, laid back boy who loves getting his head rubbed. He must be about 3 years old now.
